Scotland's hate crime law commences, adding transgender identity protections

স্কটল্যান্ডের হেট ক্রাইম অ্যান্ড পাবলিক অর্ডার (স্কটল্যান্ড) আইন ২০২৪ সালের ১ এপ্রিল থেকে কার্যকর হয়েছে, যা বয়স এবং ট্রান্সজেন্ডার পরিচয়কে সুরক্ষিত বৈশিষ্ট্যের তালিকায় যুক্ত করেছে। প্রথম ছয় মাসে রেকর্ডকৃত ঘৃণামূলক অপরাধ ৬৩% বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে, যার মধ্যে প্রতিবন্ধিতা এবং বয়স-সম্পর্কিত অপরাধ উল্লেখযোগ্য বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। ভুল লিঙ্গ সম্বোধনের জন্য কোনো অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হয়নি, এবং পুলিশ বলেছে যে মত প্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা নিয়ে উদ্বেগ বাস্তবে দেখা যায়নি।
