Marsha P. Johnson Institute
The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of Black transgender people. It runs the PAY IT Campaign, a $1,000,000 commitment that funds emergency support, housing stability, wellness resources, transportation, and community care for Black trans people. The organization also conducts a nationwide Community Needs Assessment Survey to understand what trans people, especially Black and Brown trans people, need to live, thrive, and stay safe.
