Man charged in assault on transgender woman on Boston subway
A Boston man was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and a civil rights violation with injury for attacking a transgender woman on a Blue Line train. The incident occurred on Halloween when the man boarded the train, shouted derogatory remarks, and punched and kicked the victim, causing a fractured wrist. The suspect was arrested and ordered to house arrest with GPS monitoring. The victim believes she was targeted because of her gender identity.
