This Isn’t Oversight. It’s Erasure.
On July 15, 2025, the United Nations set fire to its own charter.
A report released by the Human Rights Council doesn’t just fail trans youth, it targets them. In print. In policy. With the full weight of international authority.
This wasn’t clerical error. It was ideological warfare.
At the heart of it is Reem Alsalem, UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls. Or as history will remember her: the Special Saboteur.
A title meant to defend the vulnerable, now hijacked to erase them. Instead of shielding children from harm, she gave governments a blueprint for it. Instead of naming violence, she participated in it.
And if you're wondering how far this betrayal goes, she quotes Genspect. A group formally designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Their talking points didn’t just sneak in. They were cited, footnoted, and canonized by the UN.
This is not oversight.
This is a hate group wearing a name badge that says “diplomat.”
This is not care.
This is cruelty dressed in institutional grammar.
This is not neutrality.
This is betrayal.
The Lie in Print
Alsalem’s report doesn’t inform. It indoctrinates.
The report regurgitates the talking points of organized hate groups with the cadence of official UN language. Genspect, classified as a hate group by the SPLC, is cited as a legitimate source. Discredited pseudoscience is treated as data. And the rights of trans youth are discarded in favor of a rigid biology cult that fetishizes chromosomes over compassion.
She claims:
- That being trans is a coping mechanism for neurodivergent youth.
- That trans identity is a “social contagion.”
- That gender-affirming care is inherently coercive, an abuse masquerading as help.
But it goes further. She calls gender-affirming treatment a form of violence, not against the child, but against sex itself. Transition, in her eyes, isn’t liberation. It’s desecration. The body becomes a holy site for reactionary ideology, and from that belief springs the logic of surveillance, punishment, and control.
This isn’t feminism. This isn’t law.
It’s fascism with a PDF citation.
The Author of Harm
Let’s speak truth without flinching.
Reem Alsalem’s record is not neutral. It’s a warning sign.
- She’s dismissed sex workers’ rights.
- She’s failed to meaningfully advocate for abortion access.
- She’s elevated organizations that campaign to ban all transition under 25.
- She now frames trans people as the threat, not to institutions, but to “womanhood” itself.
This isn’t a disagreement. It’s a worldview. One where trans lives are expendable, where gender diversity is pathology, and where state power is the cure.
She hasn’t defended the rights of women and girls.
She’s redrawn the category to exclude anyone who doesn’t fit a cisgender mold.
This is the ideological policing of the body, enforced by badge and bureaucracy.
The Harms Are Not Hypothetical
Let’s say what Alsalem won’t:
- Denying care doesn’t protect children. It kills them.
- Trans youth denied transition are at significantly higher risk of self-harm, depression, and suicide.
- Social transition alone reduces distress and improves mental health.
- Medical care is evidence-based, incremental, collaborative, and, in early stages, reversible.
And yet, this report frames that care as criminal. As violence. As a threat.
But the real violence?
Telling a 14-year-old girl that her future will be shaped by a puberty she begged to be spared.
Letting a trans boy bind in secret until his ribs bruise, because asking for help might get his parents jailed.
Standing behind a UN podium and calling that suffering "protection."
Pseudoscience in a UN Wrapper
This isn’t research. It’s propaganda.
The report leans on:
- Riittakerttu Kaltiala, architect of the discredited “80% desistance” myth, a stat pulled from decades-old studies of kids who were never trans to begin with.
- Genspect, who mock queer youth on social media while lobbying to ban transition until 25.
- LGB Alliance, a religious false-flag group that spends more time attacking trans people than defending anyone else’s rights.
This is not a human rights document.
It’s a hate group collage with footnotes.
Trans Youth Are Not a Thought Experiment
These are not theoretical debates. These words have bodies behind them.
- In the U.S., children are being taken from loving homes.
- In the UK, trans youth have lost access to public care.
- In parts of Europe, parents face criminal charges for affirming their child’s identity.
And now the United Nations has handed those regimes a permission slip. A toolkit. A precedent.
This isn’t global leadership. It’s complicity.
This Is the Fascist Playbook
You’ve seen this script before.
- First they ban the care.
- Then they criminalize the parents.
- Then they punish the doctors.
- Then they surveil the schools.
- Then they erase the name, the pronoun, the person.
All under the guise of “protection.”
But they’re not protecting children.
They’re protecting the system from children who refuse to obey it.
We Are Not Powerless
Reem Alsalem does not speak for women. She does not speak for survivors. She does not speak for us.
She speaks for a coalition of global reactionaries, an alliance of TERFs, theocrats, and transphobes wearing the skin of legitimacy. But the mask is slipping.
We see it.
And we are louder than they are.
To Every Trans Youth Reading This:
You are not broken.
You are not diseased.
You are not a mistake.
You are proof that the world can still change.
You are the future that scares them.
And you are not alone.
